Mohan Iyer Appointed CIO of Bupa Care Services

Bupa has announced the appointment of Mohan Iyer as Chief Information Officer for Bupa Care Services, part of Bupa Global, India & UK (BGIUK), effective 1 December 2025. In his new role, Mohan will lead the technology strategy for Bupa’s care services, overseeing technology enabled transformation initiatives that support customers, colleagues, care providers, and the communities Bupa serves.


Bupa Care Services operates a significant network of care homes and care facilities across the UK and markets internationally. The organisation continues to focus on enhancing resident experience, workforce enablement, and sustainable, data-informed decision making. Mohan’s appointment reflects Bupa’s commitment to strengthening its digital foundations and expanding the role of technology in delivering safe, compassionate, and high-quality care.


Mohan joined the Bupa Group in 2023 as Group Head of Technology – Functions, where he led technology enablement across key business functions; contributed to the development of enterprise-wide strategic platforms and led programmes like Colleague Digital Experience and Digital Accessibility for all to help define the workplace of the future. Prior to joining Bupa, Mohan spent 12 years with Barclays, where he played a central role in the organisation’s Global People Technology transformation, overseeing large-scale platform integrations, employee experience digitisation, and global HR data strategies across multiple regions.


Earlier in his career, Mohan held leadership and transformation roles at Accenture, IBM, and ARINSO, delivering complex HR and enterprise technology programmes for multinational organisations across the UK, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. His experience spans programme delivery, digital workplace design, cloud transformation, workforce innovation, and data-led operational optimisation.


In his new capacity as CIO, Mohan will focus on advancing technology-enabled care delivery, building a modern digital workplace for frontline and corporate teams, and developing AI and data capabilities to support clinical safety, care quality, and operational performance. His work will play an important role in enabling Bupa Care Services to scale with resilience while maintaining a strong focus on human connection and compassionate care.
