Engineering Trust, Scaling Impact: Akash Yadav’s Growth Blueprint for RacMet India

In this exclusive interview with CXO Lanes, Akash Yadav, Country Head at RacMet, shares insights from a journey that bridges technical expertise with business leadership. From building European companies in India to leading international sales, his path has been shaped by resilience, cultural adaptability, and strategic clarity.
You’ve had an impressive journey across industries and regions. What experiences shaped your leadership style the most?
Akash Yadav: Having built two European companies in India from scratch, I’ve learned that resilience, cultural adaptability, and leading by example are non-negotiable. Working in diverse environments taught me to blend discipline with empathy. I strongly believe in empowering people while maintaining a clear strategic direction, especially in high-growth or complex markets.
You started as a technical advisor and now lead international sales. How has this shift helped you as a country head?
Akash Yadav: Starting from a technical background gave me deep product knowledge and credibility. This hands-on understanding helps bridge gaps between engineering, sales, and client expectations. As country head, it allows me to lead with clarity—whether in client negotiations, product customizations, or team mentoring—especially in a technically demanding domain.
What’s one personal mantra you follow when it comes to expanding in new or competitive markets?
Akash Yadav: “Grow Together Aim.” In markets like India, relationships matter as much as pricing or product. I prioritize long-term credibility over short-term wins. If your technology is strong and your intent is clear, clients will eventually choose you—even in competitive landscapes.
From your early days to now, how has your understanding of client needs evolved?
Akash Yadav: Earlier, it was about product fit. Now, it’s about solution fit. Clients today expect systems that not only meet technical specs but also reduce installation time, ensure lifecycle efficiency, and align with sustainability goals. It’s not about selling a product; it’s about solving their problems better than anyone else.
For those unfamiliar, what makes RacMet’s press-fitting systems stand out in India’s plumbing, HVAC, Industrial and Marine landscape?
Akash Yadav: RacMet brings unmatched European engineering with a 55-year legacy. Our press-fitting systems are designed for reliability, speed, and safety. In India, we’ve set a new benchmark with our SS316L, Copper and Cupro Nickel press-fittings—offering leak-proof connections, no hot work, faster installation, unmatched product warranties and incredible after sales services, especially in high-stakes projects like hospitals, hotels, data centers, metros, and shipbuilding.
What kind of projects or clients are you currently working with in India?
Akash Yadav: We’re actively engaged with India’s top shipyards, public sector undertakings (PSUs), data centers, pharmaceutical facilities, industries and international hotel chains. We’ve also received Indian Navy approval from NHQ/MOD—making us one of the few globally recognized suppliers allowed onboard new naval ship constructions.
The Indian market is value-driven. How do you balance high-quality European tech with local price sensitivities?
Akash Yadav: We’ve adopted a smart hybrid strategy—maintaining core European quality while localizing non-critical elements like logistics, tools, packaging. Education also plays a role: when we show clients the lifecycle savings, reduced rework, and safety benefits, they see value beyond initial cost. Our goal is not to be the cheapest, but to deliver unmatched reliability and ROI over time. That’s how we stay relevant in a price-sensitive yet quality-conscious market.
Sustainability is a big theme globally. How does RacMet reflect that commitment in India?
Akash Yadav: Sustainability is embedded in our manufacturing and product design. Our press-fittings reduce material waste, eliminate need for welding gases, and last longer—minimizing maintenance and replacement cycles. Also, Stainless Steel and Copper are 100% recyclable. In India, we advocate for green building practices and are aligning closely with clients pursuing IGBC or LEED certifications. https://cxolanes.com/exclusive/engineering-trust-scaling-impact-akash-yadavs-growth-blueprint-for-racmet-india/
